Well I thought I would post some of my ringtone campaign stats for everybody.

I spent a total of $855.49 for advertising etc..

Made $255.15

Lost $600.34

Obviously I did not make money with ringtones.  I probably did some things wrong to get these results but there are other people out there that I personally know that have not been doing well with ringtones, like Tim Schroeder.

I know there is people making money on ringtones as of right now but you have to wonder HOW??  I am a bit puzzled over this, but I am not the type of person that gives up.  So, I will probably give ringtones another shot but after I go make some profit on what already works for me.

Next time I come back to ringtones I will approach it a little different this time around.  I learned more about affiliate marketing with ringtones than anything else.  I don’t recommend beginners start with ringtones, unless you plan on losing money..

Paul: A hybrid basically just looks almost like a simple graphic landing page, but contains perhaps a menu with links to articles within the site. Basically a landing page loaded with content that isn’t designed for the user to click on, but is still there for Google to read.”

This is starting to come out more and more.. Basically what the super affiliates are doing to succeed with Google is creating actually websites that actually have value to them. The people that try to get away with not creating something of value will just be hit with another Google slap.

Create Value and your visitors will love you and so will Google.

Ruck from cashtactics is discussing how to get a good quality score. In order to have a “good” or “great” google quality score you need to create quality content. Meaning, you need to create not just landing page websites but websites that actually work and give value back to the user. Then you use something like domain.com/offer.

I have seen success with this and know that this is true. I think the best way to make a website that will receive a good quality score is a wordpress site. I good template that makes it look different and quality content.

I had a landing page I thought was working just fine..  I had tracking coming through, clicks but something was wrong..

I knew in my gut something was wrong but I couldn’t put my finger on it..  I loaded up my landing page and none of the text/graphics were positioned correctly!!  So I quickly try to figure out what is wrong with my landing page.  Is the syle sheet missing or is it in the wrong dir etc..

I fix the problem and now I am getting more clicks like before but now even more.  So, what caused this?

I updated my landing page to try something different and must of made the mistake of not linking the style sheet correctly.  I checked the page before I started sending traffic but firefox had the style sheet in its cache.  This caused me to lose profit for about a day and a half!

So always check your your landing page and if making major changes clear your cache!

If you have been affiliate marketing for more than a year you probably tried your hand at ringtones. I was talked into promoting ringtones recently by my affiliate manager. I was reluctant at first because I knew the market was crowded and I heard the ringtone market was down-sizing.

Well 2 weeks later after losing money for 5 days trying to figure out if the market was bad or if I just had a bad landing page I made a profit for 3 days. Then after those 3 days I lost money..

I had several keywords with 1 impression - 1 click - and 1 lead. This really got my excited because on other offers I promote leads don’t convert so easily. But, even though the ringtone leads converted easily it seemed pretty random.

After talking to Jonathon volk and asking him what he thought, he said it was probably my keywords.  Well I thought so too, so I got some new keywords and re-grouped them.

I saw an increase in profit within 2 hours after making the changes.

So, is ringtones still something worth promoting? Well the keyword here is “is ringtones WORTH” promoting. I would say no because I can promote a lot of other things without all of this hassle and make 3 times more than I have made with ringtones.

With that being said I think that ringtones are not something a new affiliate marketer should promote because the leads (at least for me) are pretty random. And in the beginning if you don’t know your stuff you can lose a lot of money.

Also don’t forget to check out uberaffiliates post on ringtones.

I was reading a post over at cashtactics about working with msn and having problems with his ads being disabled for none relevant content.

Apparently their bot doesn’t read landing pages like other bots and you have to keyword stuff your LP with hidden text…

It seems this past week that my campaigns have seen a dump in sales for digital products. I have seen an increase in physical product sales the past 3 months.

So, is it getting harder to sell digital products or are consumers just getting smarter?

For instance when you visit an ebook landing page and there is red text now you don’t even read it. You just scroll down through the graphics and see if anything catchs your eye.

Are people becoming immune to affiliate marketing? They probably are not.. They could just not want the product being shoved down their throat.

I want to change the direction of this site a bit from various ways of making money online and concentrate on affiliate marketing.  I am sure you have heard of it and chances are if your reading this blog post you probably might actually done some affiliate marketing.

I want this blog to be my personal journal of affiliate marketing.  I plan on bring you helpful info on affiliate marketing and how to guides.
